Multinational Village, Paranaque, Metro Manila, Philippines

Two hundred bags of used clothing from donors in the U.S. were distributed to 200 children from very poor families.  These children live in the Gawad Kalinga (GK) Village located within Multinational Village in Paranaque, Metro Manila.  Most of the residents of this GK Village work as household help, drivers, house boys and security guards for the affluent families who reside in Multinational Village.  A few years ago, the homeowner's association set aside this portion of land to build houses for these impoverished families. Gawad Kalinga helped build the houses.

 

On December 19, at a Christmas party for 200 poor kids aged 4 - 14, toys, clothing and food was distributed. Nuns from the local convent helped prepare the spaghetti and fried chicken that was served.  Toys and chips were also donated by sponsors in the Philippines.
