Disaster Relief for Victims of Typhoon Ondoy
Typhoon Ondoy hit Manila hard causing flash floods and devastation
September 26, 2009--Manila, Philippines
The pictures tell a story of devastation. Typhoon Ondoy pounded down on Manila and in 10 hours the equivalent of 30 days of typhoon force rain flooded the city. Houses were under water with people climbing onto their roofs to escape the flood waters. 80% of Metro Manila was submerged by the flood waters. Commuters were stranded as roads became impassable. Many have been left homeless and in dire need of help. Over 250 deaths have been reported and hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced. Typhoon victims have lost everything and need our help.
